Kids sing the handwashing song!

Clean Water, Sanitation & Hygiene

Good nutrition doesn't hold up on its own. Without clean water and reliable sanitation, illness can undo a season's worth of nutritional progress before it ever takes hold — so alongside our School Canteen Program, we maintain the water, sanitation, and hygiene infrastructure that keeps that food, and the kids eating it, healthy.

Fresh Water Wells

We fund new wells and maintain existing ones at each of our 12 partner schools, so students and staff have reliable access to clean water year-round — not just during the February–May hunger season.

Toilets

We work with each partner school to keep toilet facilities in place and in good repair. Sanitation gaps are one of the fastest ways a child's nutrition gets undermined — a single bout of illness can erase days of the benefit a canteen meal was meant to provide.

Handwashing Stations

We partner with local artisans to build handwashing stations at every partner school, and we teach students and staff how to properly treat water before it's used for drinking or cooking.

Building the Habit, All Day Long

Clean hands matter beyond mealtime. We work directly with teachers at each partner school to build handwashing into the daily routine, so kids are washing their hands throughout the school day — not only right before lunch.
